Our Story: Power Tool Company was founded in 1953 by Fred Whitson Sr., a WWII veteran with deep roots in the logging industry. Fueled by a passion for outdoor equipment and a vision for the future, he built a company that would become a trusted name in the Southeast. Starting as a retailer of McColloch chainsaws, Power Tool Company grew to become a distributor for industry leaders like Stihl in the 1970s and SCAG Power Equipment in the early 1980s. Today, we proudly serve retail dealers across Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Southern Virginia, and Southeastern West Virginia. For over seven decades, our commitment to customer service and operational excellence has earned us a reputation as one of the most reliable distributors in the region.
